FOUR BOTTLES OF EXCEPTIONAL WASHINGTON WINE
Quilceda Creek 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon: Packed to the brim with floral aromas and flavors of blackberry, blueberry, black cherry and plum fruit intertwine with nuances of cacao nib, anise, soy, forest floor and minerals. Incredibly pure and complex, this richly textured wine is totally seamless in all of its parts, allowing for its silky texture to shine through on the palate with a finish that last for minutes
Leonetti Cellars 2013 Reserve: Light aromas of toast, barrel tones, flowers, licorice and dark fruit are followed by earth and other savory flavors that are light but still show weight and density. Has a stunning nose of tar, iron minerality, cassis, and dried flowers ~ especially lavender. On the palate, the wine is powerful and pure, repeating the note of cassis liqueur and black olive compote. All the elements of fruit, acidity, and tannin are perfectly balanced, ensuring a lengthy cellaring life if you have the patience to hide it in your cellar.
Cayuse Vineyards
Cayuse 2017 Syrah: Exudes notions of iron, dried blood, pepper, Asian spice and sweet red and black fruits. Full-bodied, supple on the palate, it has extraordinary purity, a layered, full mid-palate and beautiful depth and tannic structure that comes through on the finish. It’s far from unapproachable today, and I’d happily drink it anytime over the coming decade or more.
Figgins 2014 Estate Red Wine: A true representation of Figgins Estate Vineyard in its prime. The wine is deeply colored and bursts from the glass with baking spices, pan-reduced brambles, blueberry, and dried fig. It is delightfully fresh with a deep current of ripe fruit that runs the course of the palate. The ultra-fine tannins provide for a long and smooth finish.
